Coorabook is designed to support reading discovery and learning activities that may involve children.
We are committed to protecting children’s privacy and complying with applicable child privacy laws, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States.
We take special care when handling information that may relate to children.
2. Use of the App by Children
Children under the age of 13 should use the App only with the involvement or supervision of a parent or guardian.
Parents or guardians are responsible for monitoring their child’s use of the Service.
Coorabook does not knowingly allow children under 13 to independently create accounts without parental involvement.
In most cases, an account used by a child is created and managed by a parent or guardian.

• Books saved to a personal library

We do not collect precise birth dates or personal identity documents from children.
4. Book Scanning and OCR Processing
Coorabook allows users to scan book covers using the device camera.
When a book is scanned:
• The captured image may be processed to extract text such as book titles or ISBN numbers.
• This process may use optical character recognition (OCR) technology provided by services such as Google Cloud Vision API.
Captured images are:
• processed temporarily to identify books, and
• not permanently stored on our servers.
Images are not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, or unrelated purposes.
5. Automated Processing and Recommendations
Some features of the App may use automated technologies or AI-based systems to help organize book information or generate recommendations.
These systems analyze reading preferences and book data to improve the user experience.
Automated results may occasionally contain incomplete or inaccurate information, and users should verify important information independently when necessary.

To operate the App, we rely on trusted third-party service providers, including:
• Google Firebase (authentication and database services)
• Google Cloud services (OCR processing)
• ISBNdb (book metadata services)
These services process information only as necessary to provide the functionality of the App.
They operate under their own privacy policies.

Information associated with children may be used to:

• Maintain personal reading libraries

We do not sell children’s personal information.
